Linda Adato
(October 24, 1942 – May 7, 2021)
 


Linda Adato, born in England, studied at Hornsey College of Art and, after immigrating to the US, at UCLA. Her work has been shown throughout the United States and abroad. Among her awards are those from the National Academy of Design, Boston Printmakers, Audubon Artists, and the Center for Contemporary Printmaking. 

Her work is in the collections of the Achenbach Foundation for Graphic Arts of the Fine Arts Museums of San Francisco, British Museum, DeCordova Museum, Detroit Institute of Arts, Duxbury Art Complex Museum, Corcoran Gallery of Art, New York Public Library, Mississippi Museum of Art, Portland Art Museum, OR and other institutions. She is represented by The Old Print Shop, NYC, and other galleries.

Adato was commissioned by the Albany Print Club, NY to create their 2009 Presentation Print. In 2010 she received a commission from the West Shore Graphic Arts Society, Muskegon, MI for an edition of 25 prints.

Linda Adato served as president of The Society of American Graphic Artists, a national organization of fine art printmakers, from 2007-2010. She is also a member of The Boston Printmakers, Audubon Artists, and a lifetime member of The Silvermine Guild of Artists in New Canaan, CT. 

The Society of American Graphic Artists presented Ms. Adato with an award for her commitment and contribution to fine art printmaking at their annual awards dinner at the National Arts Club, New York City in October 2013.
